Lara-Ashley Monroe

Lara is from Seattle coming over to study writing in England. She has a degree in Visual Art and Comparative of History of Ideas as well. Thunder Walks in Peace is her first novel, set during the Vietnam War where her father served.

Drafted to the Vietnam War during the excitement of Woodstock, Johnny is a young boy trying to cling to what he knows. His simple life of hope and music fails to prepare him for the chaos of war or the truth back home. Twenty years later, his daughter is wrestling with her own demons, searching for the family she feels she missed out on. As both characters navigate the world they have been thrown into, they must choose how deeply they believe love is worth fighting for. It is a novel that asks how far we are prepared to go for love.
