Chrissy has a background in advertising and marketing but took a career break to dedicate time to her dream of writing a novel. During that year she achieved a Distinction for her MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, studied Script Writing under John Burgess in London, had her first short play produced, and discovered a new love of poetry. She now spends her time freelancing, hopping between Bath, London and Liverpool, writing, and trying to wean herself off her student diet of wine and cake.
Fast Forward, Stop, Rewind follows narrator Etta Barton attempting to flee her past: the death of her father, her overbearing, needy mother, and her childhood friendship with Natalie – a close bond that turns toxic after a terrible accident. The story is told in three parts over twenty-five years, as she runs from Manchester, to London, to New York, yet winds up trapped in the world she tried to escape.
