Louisa Anderson and her mother, Elena, have spent a lifetime keeping secrets from each other. The arrival of Auntie Bea from the Philippines, an auntie that Louisa never knew existed, forces Elena to reveal the truth about her past to her daughter – including the real reason behind her decision to keep Auntie Bea a secret for so long. The truth that Louisa learns about her mother’s past gives her the courage to reveal a secret she has been keeping of her own. It is a novel about family, love and forgiveness.
